Dr. Amer Rustom Sr.

For more than four decades, Dr. Amer Rustom Sr. has been a principal in international commerce. In 1984 he co-founded The Platinum Group, an international business development house whose divisions have spanned petroleum, construction, industrial equipment, automobiles, real estate, medical imaging, pharmaceuticals, and, in recent years, advanced materials.

As chief executive of The Platinum Group and of Platinum Petroleum International, he has guided ventures across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the United States, and has cultivated enduring relationships with leaders of industry and government throughout those regions. Over a career of thirty years and more he has served as founder, director, or principal of more than two dozen companies.

Educated in Europe and fluent in several languages, Dr. Rustom has made a particular study of what commerce across borders actually requires: patience, cultural fluency, and the kind of trust that is built in person, over years, and never delegated.

As Chairman of Windward Standard, he brings that standing to a single purpose — considered counsel for families and enterprises navigating matters of consequence.
